On May 3rd 2008 I visited Brooklyn Botanic Garden (one of my favorite places in Brooklyn I think) and on this special day was the Cherry Blossom Festival, Sakura Matsuri. It was a cloudy and a gray day but it was so beautiful because cherry trees were in full blossom, showering with petals those who touched them. Back to talking like a guy...it was awesome. I saw performances and traditional Japanese dances (photos that you see), A lot of Manga kids were there fulfilling their Asian fetishes and socializing. Some were dressed as characters probably from their favorite cartoons and such, few guys even had sword fights, which was cool. There were a lot of Japanese related workshops, demonstrations (origami, woodblock printing, doll making, flower arranging & green tea stuff ) & of course plant stuff. It was a lot of fun, but would be more fun if certain SOMEONE was there with me but w/e. I hope to go there again, before cherry blossoms disappear, since I mainly stayed for the festival and didn't get to walk around much. Its funny but i actually cant wait until next years cherry blossom festival.
